CALLING ALL STORYTELLERS
One Day, during EKKA 2016, our good friend and Heritage Architect Peter Marquis-Kyle, started talking to EKKA patrons to gather their STORIES.
The hope was that Peter would gather oral history about The Old Museum that may not have been recorded in before.
Peter has now handed the Story Gathering job to the present curators of The Old Museum, Queensland Youth Orchestras. They will not only be gathering those memories of their past students, and Alumni, they will be also hoping to retrieve those of all of you in the general public.
So many of us have memories of this space, some are of a childhood wander through the spooky dusty halls, others are memories of joining QYO 25 years ago, and having nobody to stop you exploring the dungeons and attics. We want to hear all of them.
And in the words of the Story Master:
“This oldmuseumstories.info website has now begun.
Some more polishing is needed, but it all seems to be working. There are a few sample stories. There is a useful hierarchy of categories. Tagging is working. Search is working. Comments are working. So far, so good.
So please, start sending in your stories.
