Suicide Country Hour (Album Launch)

  • Old Museum Building 480 Gregory Tce Bowen Hills Australia (map)

with Karl S. Williams

Suicide Country Hour (SCH) are an alternative-country band from Brisbane, Queensland. SCH is known for balancing lyrical melodrama with comedic banter, spawning a turbulent and entertaining experience of melancholic songs.

SCH spawned from early morning ciders in a Brisbane share-house back in 2013. Fast forward a decade, several recruitments, two albums and a hundred hazy shows, the band has evolved to an alternative country mainstay in the Meanjin/Brisbane scene.

2023 sees SCH release their third record Injune, their highly anticipated upcoming album recorded at Airlock Studios. As the next step in the evolution of the group’s sound, Injune is set to be launched at the Old Museum on the 6th of May, and released through Brisbane’s own Airlock Records. This collection of songs deal with a range of issues from hangovers to homophobia, love to loss, all culminating in a unique emotional and sonic experience.

Suicide Country Hour currently are: Simmo (vocals/guitar), Coxy (vocals/guitar), Simon (Double Bass/vocals), Chris (Fiddle), Damon (Mandolin), Hik (drums), Sarah (Accordion/ Piano/vocals)
