For the SEQSW’s first performance at the Old Museum Building in Bowen Hills, we wanted to bring you a program as spectacular as the venue itself. And the Oscar Goes to is a tribute to the music from the movies who took home an Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Score or Best Song. This concert features film music from across the 20th Century from Gone with the Wind and Lawrence of Arabia to Dances with Wolves and Skyfall. This is a trip through some of the best movie music from the past 100 years.

With music from Leonard Bernstein, George Gerswin, Erin Whitacre, and John Rotar, Sing! brings together a diverse collection of beautiful, fun, and haunting stories, culminating with Catherine Likhuta's Oratorio for Wind Symphony and Mixed Choir: Scraps from a Madman's Diary. Around the World

Join the Brisbane Concert Orchestra as it takes to the stage of the heritage-listed Old Museum Building to perform an enchanting selection of music from all corners of the globe.

Under the baton of BCO’s Musical Director Matthew Schwarz, you will be transported from the realm of Armenian folklore with Khachaturian's Sabre Dance through to the highlands of Ireland with a medley from Lord of the Dance. Also on the program are works including Hungarian March by Berlioz, Frisch in's Feld! by Strauss Jr. and Nocturne for Strings in D Major by Ukrainian composer, Theodore Akimenko.

Returning as violin soloist is Julia Hill, who will perform the deeply moving Lark Ascending by English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. This is an afternoon of music to remember, so book your tickets now!

Join Voices of Birralee’s signature choirs – Resonance of Birralee, Birralee Blokes and Brisbane Birralee Voices as they present Queensland in Song on Sunday 5 June in the Old Museum’s Concert Hall.  This concert will celebrate Queensland and represent it's sounds, people and places. The works of many Queensland composers will be featured including pieces by Astrid Jorgensen, Joseph Twist, Peter Ingram, Will Brown, Jo Davie and Powderfinger. A new work commissioned from Charulatha Mani that incorporates Indian Carnatic music in a work inspired by the Brisbane River will also be premiered.
